About The Role
Waterman CPM are looking for passionate, experienced Senior or Principal Ecologists, to join our Ecology Departments in the Warrington, Harpenden and Cirencester Offices. You will take on a consultancy role developing existing and new client relationships, manage challenging and sometimes multidisciplinary projects and assist in the growth and development of the existing ecology team, providing training, and mentoring.
You will be expected to demonstrate commitment to technical excellence and commercial awareness, as well as a proactive approach, identifying new opportunities and adapting to the fast developing ecological consultancy industry.
About You
With at least four years experience in ecological consultancy, you will
- Have a relevant degree and preferably a higher degree
- Be a full member of IEEM
- Be proficient in managing large, high profile ecology projects, including tendering
- Be experienced in sensitive negotiations with developers, regulators and wildlife organisations
- Be proficient in managing other staff
- Have an excellent understanding of Ecological Impact Assessment, and guidance
Applicants need to possess exceptional field skills with the ability to undertake extended phase 1 surveys as a minimum. You should have strong botanical field skills, experience of protected species surveys, and will preferably hold licences, including EPS disturbance licences.
First-rate organisational, leadership and communication skills are crucial, and a strong commercial understanding is required. A background in working with property developers and Expert witness experience would be a distinct advantage.
